Pan-Fried Salmon
Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets (about 150g each), skin-on
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Fresh dill or parsley for garnish
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Salmon:
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the fillets with salt and pepper.
-
Heat the Pan:
- In a large non-stick skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
-
Cook the Salmon:
- Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet. Press down on the fillets with a spatula to ensure the skin makes good contact with the pan.
- Cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the salmon is cooked about three-quarters of the way through.
- Carefully flip the salmon fillets over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
-
Add Aromatics:
- Add the minced garlic to the pan during the last minute of cooking, stirring it around the fillets. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add the lemon slices to the pan and cook for a few seconds on each side until slightly caramelized.
-
Serve:
- Transfer the salmon fillets to a serving plate, garnish with fresh dill or parsley, and arrange the caramelized lemon slices around the fillets.
- Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
