Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs
Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs Recipe
Ingredients:
- 500g pork ribs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder (optional)
- Or you can purchase our salt and pepper powder premix
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- Vegetable oil for deep frying
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2-3 fresh red chilies, sliced
- 2 scallions, chopped
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Pork Ribs:
- Rinse the pork ribs under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a large bowl, mix the salt, black pepper, white pepper, and five-spice powder. Add the pork ribs and toss to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle the cornstarch over the ribs and toss again to ensure they are well-coated.
-
Deep Fry the Ribs:
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C). Ensure there is enough oil to fully submerge the ribs.
- Carefully add the ribs in batches to the hot oil, frying until they are golden brown and crispy, about 4-6 minutes per batch. Do not overcrowd the pot.
- Remove the ribs with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
-
Stir-Fry the Aromatics:
- In a large skillet or wok, heat a small amount of oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sliced red chilies, stir-frying until fragrant, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Add the chopped scallions and stir-fry for another 30 seconds.
-
Combine and Finish:
- Add the fried pork ribs to the skillet with the aromatics. Sprinkle with the sugar and toss everything together until the ribs are well-coated and heated through, about 2 minutes.
-
Serve:
- Transfer the ribs to a serving plate and garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
- Serve hot as an appetizer or with steamed rice and vegetables for a main dish.
