Silver Fish Fritters

Ingredients:

  • 300g cooked silver fish, thawed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornflour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 egg
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Silver Fish:

    • Thaw the cooked silver fish in the refrigerator or under cold water. Drain well.
  2. Make the Batter:

    • In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, cornflour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
    • In another bowl, whisk the cold water and egg together.
    • Combine the wet and dry ingredients to form a smooth batter.
  3. Fry the Silver Fish:

    • Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
    • Dip the silver fish into the batter and fry in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve:

    • Transfer the fried silver fish fritters to a serving plate. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
