Stir-Fried Prawn Meat

Ingredients:

  • 500g prawn meat, thawed and patted dry
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:

    • Thaw the prawn meat in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
    • Mince the garlic and ginger, and slice the bell peppers.
  2. Stir-Fry the Aromatics:

    • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add the minced garlic and ginger, stir-frying until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Cook the Prawns:

    • Add the prawn meat to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Add the Vegetables:

    • Add the sliced bell peppers to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
  5. Combine and Finish:

    • Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and the cornstarch mixture. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the prawns and vegetables.
    • Drizzle with sesame oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve:

    • Transfer the stir-fried prawns and vegetables to a serving dish and garnish with fresh cilantro.
    • Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
